Highmark/West Penn Allegheny Health System
On March 27, 2017, Highmark submitted a request to modify conditions of the 2013 order permitting the purchase of West Penn-Allegheny Health System.
On April 29, 2013, Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Michael Consedine announced the department’s approval of the transactional filing related to Highmark’s proposed affiliation with the West Penn-Allegheny Health System (West Penn) and the creation of an integrated delivery network. The Approving Determination and Order is subject to certain conditions. In some cases, documents are required to be filed with the department.
